R. CARLOS NAKAI TRIO - May 5, 2023 - 7:00 PM -Tickets: $20 - R. Carlos Nakai is the world’s premier performer and composer of the Native American flute. He has released thirty-six albums on Canyon Records, including RIAA Certified Gold and Platinum Records, and has sold over four million albums worldwide. William Eaton is a visionary musician and composer, and co-founding Director of the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery. His multi-stringed instrumental inventions are world-renowned, and are featured on his seventeen albums for Canyon Records. Will Clipman plays a pan-global palette of ethnic percussion in addition to the traditional drumkit. He has recorded over seventy albums, over half of those for Canyon Records. Nakai, Eaton and Clipman have collectively received twenty-two GRAMMY® nominations. Over the course of their thirty-year collaboration as performing and recording artists, R. Carlos Nakai, William Eaton & Will Clipman have engaged in an ever-evolving improvisational trialogue to generate their collective sound. This creative process is documented on their five studio recordings for Canyon Records: Feather, Stone & Light; Red Wind; the GRAMMY nominated In a Distant Place (with Tibetan flutist Nawang Khechog); the GRAMMY® nominated Dancing into Silence; and the newly released Spiral Rendezvous. The trio will play improvisational themes and variations from their recorded oeuvre in their trademark one-of-kind, in-the-moment performance at CPAC.

For over 18 years Michael has been performing all around the world. He has performed in several venues throughout Las Vegas including the D Hotel and Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. Michael performs a diverse range of magic styles from close-up to stage illusion and often integrates audience participation and comedy, entertaining audiences of all ages. Every Michael Howell magic show, no matter how long the performance, is jam packed with magic and illusions. Let Michael take you on a magical journey here at CPAC!

* SONORA WINDSSONORA WINDS

SONORA WINDS - Directed by Clifton Weston - May 20, 2023 - 3:00 PM - Tickets: $20 - The Sonora Winds was founded by John Snavely in the mid-90s to fill a need for a wind chamber ensemble in Tucson. The group consists of more than 50 business professionals, college students, and community members at large. The ensemble has been performing a variety of music at local venues for almost three decades. Clifton Weston is a graduate from the University of Arizona Fred Fox School of Music. During his time as a graduate teaching assistant, he served as coordinator and director for the UA Outreach Honor Band, Chair and Coordinator of the UA High School Honor Band, and conductor of the UA Symphonic Band. Under the mentorship of Gregg Hanson and Chad Nicholson, Weston earned his Master of Music in Wind Band Conducting in the spring of 2017. Weston earned his Bachelor of Music in clarinet performance and music education in 2014 from the University of Arizona. In the spring of 2017, Weston was appointed Director of Bands at Magee Middle School in Tucson, as well as working on staff with the Pride of Arizona. Weston is excited to stay in the Tucson area and is looking forward to bringing his best for the music education of his students.

JASON GORDON - May 24, 2023 - 7:00 PM - Tickets: $15 - Jason “Gordo” Gordon is an internationally touring, award winning solo looping artist based in Phoenix, AZ. Regarded as one of the most dynamic live looping performers in the country, he has performed at music festivals and concert venues from coast to coast. Gordo has opened for numerous National Acts including The Byrds, Foreigner, Bad Company, Poco, and has performed multiple times at the world-famous Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood. Gordo is a solo entertainer and a full band all wrapped up into one amazing package. A multi-instrumentalist, Gordo is proficient at Drums, Bass, Rhythm/Lead Guitar, Piano/Keys, Harmonica, and is an amazing vocalist as well! This show features his own, custom built, stage setup that includes all the aforementioned instruments in an amazing and visually stunning display. Gordo literally builds each song piece by piece by recording each instrument on the fly, then layering in each additional instrument as he goes, all while the audience watches. This is a unique, interactive show, and is performed completely live without the use of any pre-recorded material or tracks. His styles range from Classic Rock, to Blues, Country, Folk, Motown, Bluegrass, and pretty much anything in between. He was voted Phoenix Magazine's "Best of the Valley" in 2020, and has been featured in multiple papers/magazines as well as by radio stations around the country. Gordo has truly reinvented the concept of the "one man band".
