* RIDERS IN THE SKYRIDERS IN THE SKY

Tuesday, March 2nd at 12pm, 3pm and 7pm - Tickets: $30 in advance - $35 at door - AMERICA’S FAVORITE COWBOYS - For more than 30 years Riders In The Sky have been keepers of the flame passed on by the Sons of the Pioneers, Gene Autry and Roy Rogers, reviving and revitalizing the genre. And while remaining true to the integrity of Western music, they have themselves become modern-day icons by branding the genre with their own legendary wacky humor and way-out Western wit, and all along encouraging buckaroos and buckarettes to live life “The Cowboy Way!” Riders In The Sky are exceptional not just in the sense that their music is of superlative standards (they are the ONLY exclusive Western artist to have won a Grammy), but in fact that their accomplishments are an exception to the rule, ranging from performing at the White House and being inducted into the Western Music Hall of Fame to contributing to the Toy Story film soundtrack and winning two Grammys. It’s no wonder why Billboard Magazine dubbed them “one of the most historically significant acts in the history of American music.

(AM)SCRATCHBOARD/WATERCOLOR: COMBINING DRAWING WITH PAINTING ACRYLIC LANDSCAPE: A PAINTERLY APPROACH Instructor: Rick Wheeler Dates: Every Tuesday, January 5 to April 27, 2021 Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM -AND/OR- 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM Fee: $45/3-hour class or a special price of $75 instead of $90, if you register for both a morning and afternoon class on the same day. Scratchboard is fundamentally a drawing medium, popular in the early 1900's for book illustration. Scratchboard makes for some very dramatic black & white renderings, but with this class, the students will discover how adding color - using traditional watercolor - can enhance their drawings. "Painterly" is a term often used among other painters. If one painter calls another artists work, "painterly" it's considered a compliment. The term is used to describe a style of work that allows for visible brushstrokes, thick applications of paint, dry brush, and blocking-in, while incorporating a more generalized, less detailed approach to painting. All of these techniques, and several others will be covered.
