Performance Cancellation Policy

We rarely have to cancel a performance, but this is live theater and sometimes the AC breaks down, the power goes out, a performer gets sick…
If you are scheduled to attend a performance that is cancelled, CPAC staff will make best efforts to contact you in advance, and you may move your tickets into another performance of your choice or receive a full refund.

Please contact the Box Office in person or by phone at (520) 399-1750. Box Office hours are Monday ~ Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.

Proof

Directed by Susan Ford, Proof won the 2001 Pulitzer Prize and the Tony Award for Best Play. The story revolves around Catherine, a troubled young woman, who has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, a famous mathematician.

JACK LASSETER SPEAKS
The Cowboy and Cattle Ranching in the West

Here Jack tells us all about the history of the western cattle business, who the cowboys were, what their life was like, their special terminology and apparel, why their boots are pointed and their hats turned up, why bareback is safer than with a saddle, what life was like on a cattle drive, how did one start a ranch and survive in Arizona, and much more. It is a fascinating subject that most of us don’t know much about except from the movies.

ALLAN RIDING SEXTET with vocalist Julie Anne
Pure Sound

The Sextet is comprised of Trumpet/Flugel Horn, Trombone, Alto/Tenor Sax and Flute, and a rhythm section of Piano, Bass and Drums. The musical focus of the sextet is straight ahead Jazz from the 1940s through 1970s, playing mainly well known standards with a sprinkling of Jazz originals including ballads, Swing and Latin numbers, as well as Dixieland arrangements. The music is fun to listen to and great for dancing.

Six of Green Valley’s vocalists perform a variety of music including folk, traditional, classical, pop, seasonal and novelty numbers. The arrangements are in close six-part harmony featuring soloists with voice accompaniment and their special brand of harmony.

DIXIE CATS

Southern Arizonans are fortunate to have the Dixie Cats appearing at the Performance & Art Center. This six-piece Dixieland Band has been performing in the area and Tucson for many years. The band is made up of a number of musicians who have also performed with such bands as The Bourbon Street Jazz Band, The Dixie Sidewinders and the Rob Wright Dixieland Show Band. The Dixie Cats specialize in New Orleans-style jazz that includes gospel and blues.

BALLET FOLKLORICO LA PALOMA

Ballet Folklorico La Paloma represented Arizona at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, and they have been invited to perform at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, England. The dancers are performing at various locations across Arizona to raise funds to repair costumes, make new costumes and offset travel expenses. Join us for a spectacular performance full of dance and music.

Jazz pianist and vocalist Susan Artemis artfully combines classical piano favorites with great American standards. Backed by percussion and bass, this is an exceptionally creative and unique program coming to the CPAC stage for the first time.

Women on the Arizona Frontier

Jack recounts the story of some of the women on the Arizona frontier, focusing on an Apache woman, a Spanish woman and a New England woman. There are also governors, judges, a bridesmaid of Eleanor Roosevelt, the Captain of the “Arizona Navy”, the first territorial historian, a famous painter and architect and the last stagecoach robber.

Add one bright and hosest young newspaperman and watch the not-so-dumb blonde showgirl learn about life, literature, honesty and true love in this audience delighting comedy which is as pertinent today as it was when it premiered in 1948. Directed by Susan Voorhees.
