This workshop will encourage students to experiment with various color combinations for a more creative and successful expression. Landscapes will be considered for subjects, but students may choose their favorite theme. Various color combinations can change the way we creatively express any subject. The opportunity to examine color triads will take away the “mud” and give students secrets for success without fear!

A Play by A.R. Gurney (The Santa Cruz Shoestring Players) Admission is free (tickets required) *90 minutes with no intermission Oct. 30-31 at 4pm Nov. 6-7 at 4pm Dec. 5-6 at 4pm Jan. 9-10 at 4pm Feb. 14 at 4pm and 7pm Mar. 12-13 at 4pm Love Letters by A.R. Gurney was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The play centers on two characters, Andrew Makepeace Ladd III and Melissa Gardner. During the course of the play, Andrew and Melissa read the notes, letters and cards they have written to each other over the course of 50 years. The letters provide a heartfelt account of their hopes and ambitions, dreams and disappointments, and victories and defeats that have passed between them throughout their two very different lives. This production is directed by Regina Ford and is donated to the community by the Santa Cruz Shoestring Players as a gift to the community. Capacity is limited to 50 people per performance and is general admission. Freewill offering will be collected to help support the operation of the Community Performance and Art Center. This production is 90 minutes without intermission and will be presented on the CPAC patio, weather permitting, and in CPAC theater during inclement weather.

* JACK LASSETER: Wild Bill HickoJACK LASSETER: Wild Bill Hicko

Tuesday, November 10th at 7:00 PM Tickets: $15 in advance - $20 at door This is the epic story of the first fast-draw gunslinger in the West, the legendary Wild Bill Hickok. It takes us from that first duel in July of 1865 that established his reputation on the frontier as the most famous gunfighter of his time, through his exciting life as a Union spy, scout, lawman, and finally showman. The story culminates with his murder in Deadwood in 1876 at the young age of only 39, while holding what would become known throughout the West as the “Deadman’s Hand”, two pair, Aces and Eights. Along the way you will meet Calamity Jane and his pal, Buffalo Bill Cody.

Wednesday, November 11th at 7:00 PM Tickets: $20 in advance - $25 at door Peter Dalton Ronstadt, a fifth generation Ronstadt in Tucson, son of late Michael J Ronstadt, nephew of Linda Ronstadt, and great grandson of Federico Jose Maria Ronstadt, aims to explore the musical heritage of his family while presenting new and original material. Along with his band of Tucsonans, ‘The Company’, Petie paints a post-modern musical picture of the American Southwest by presenting music from the region, music from Mexico, collected favorites, songs of his father, and new songs that draw inspiration from all the elements of his upbringing. With a lush tapestry of instruments along with unique arrangements, enjoy a moment in time while P.D. Ronstadt & The Company take you on a musical journey that is sure to lift your spirits!

Thursday, November 12th at 7:00 PM Tickets: $20 in advance - $25 at door Since 2002, Odaiko Sonora has increased first-hand knowledge of taiko - Japanese ensemble drumming - and the opportunities it presents for personal growth and community service throughout the region. The group's performances, classes, school residencies and team-building workshops reach over 150,000 people each year. Through a unique partnership with TUSD’s Opening Minds Through the Arts and support from the Arizona Commission on the Arts, Odaiko Sonora provides arts integrated taiko programs that support academic curricula for hundreds of elementary school students each year. Odaiko Sonora has won numerous awards as an organization and its leaders are respected members of the international taiko community, who take part in taiko programs in Japan, the UK, Canada, and throughout the U.S. Their studio, Rhythm Industry Performance Factory, is the only artist-owned performing arts incubator space in the southwest, and is a critical feature of Tucson’s performing arts landscape.
