* BEST OF GASLIGHT THEATERBEST OF GASLIGHT THEATER

Time: 7:00 pm

Join the popular faces of The Gaslight Theatre as they share their favorite impressions and songs from the last four decades of entertaining Tucson! The cast includes: Joe Cooper, Mike Yarema, Todd Thompson, Jake Chapman, Heather Stricker, Janee Page, and Erin Thompson, who are all current and long-time members of The Gaslight Theatre's cast of actors. Impressions will include Sony and Cher, Madonna, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash & June Carter, Johnny Carson, and of course some numbers from The Gaslight Theatre's melodrama shows! Come laugh with these Gaslight regulars as they perform this show for the first time in Green Valley! The Gaslight Theater has been a popular destination for residents of southern Arizona for decades. It all started back in 1977 when a young 24-year-old U of A student named Tony Terry Jr. grabbed a few great friends from the drama department and headed to Skagway, Alaska. They founded the “Mighty Moose Melodrama Theatre” and the one and only production was called “Gold Fever! or Danger at Bonanza Creek!” After a long, cold, but fun summer, the troupe said “The heck with this! Let’s head back to the desert!” Shortly after their return to Tucson and with the help of Tony’s brother Tom, they opened The Gaslight Theatre in an old red barn at Trail Dust Town on Tanque Verde Road. They eventually settled in the old Jerry Lewis Theatre at the corner of Broadway and Kolb and also built Little Anthony’s Diner. They are still entertaining Tucson families and making memories for a whole new generation.
